Projects

Banner-Sandy Ridge Water Interconnection
This project includes approximately 7,500 feet of 8" water line and a booster pump station. It allows the Wise County PSA to supply their Sandy Ridge Water System with water from their treatment plant at Carfax, rather than purchasing water from Coeburn. This has then allowed Coeburn to extend their water system further along Rte. 72 and even into Scott County. Click here for more information.

Bear Creek Subdivision
This project is a private residential subdivision development just outside of Wise, providing much needed housing to Wise County. Phase 1 includes 36 lots and Phase 2 was just completed and includes an additional 45 lots. Maxim provided engineering and surveying for the subdivision lot layout, plus the design of water, sewer, streets, storm drainage, and underground utilities (phone, electrical, and cable TV. Bold Camp Water System
This project provides public water to 360 households in the Bold Camp section of Pound. It includes approximately 90,000 feet of 4" to 8" water line, a 100,000 gallon storage tank, and a mainline pressure reducing station. The project was funded from four federal and state agencies. The Bold Camp Water System is regionally interconnected with both the Wise County PSA (at Bold Camp Gap) and the town of Clintwood (at Red Onion Gap). Click here for more information.

Imboden Sewer Project
This project is a demonstration Decentralized Wastewater Project serving the small coal camp of Imboden above Appalachia. The project provides public sewer service to 14 homes with an effluent sewer collection system, a 5000 gpd advanced sewage treatment plant, and disposal into a reduced area drainfield. The system was designed with a remote telemetry web-based monitoring system to greatly reduce onsite operator time. Click here for more information.

Riverview Sewer Extension
This project provides public sewer service to eight homes and a church in a section of Riverview that was not sewered when the original system was installed in 1989. The project includes approximately 1,300 feet of 8" and 6" gravity sewer. Due to high groundwater levels, the project was designed with an underground drain system installed parallel to the gravity sewer. This helped to solve a major drainage problem the residents were continually dealing with. Click here for more information.

South Fork Water Project
This project extends public water to approximately 275 households in the South Fork section of Wise County. It includes approximately 82,000 feet of 4" to 10" water line, a booster pump station, and a 100,000 gallon storage tank. The project was funded from four federal and state agencies. The project was designed with the capability to supply water into the North Fork service area (150 households) and on into Kentucky at Flat Gap. Click here for more information.
